Speed Trap Hours| Common Hours Of Police Presence
Traffic tickets are sometimes an unavoidable part of our lives. If you drive at all, there is around a 48% chance that you will receive a ticket in the next three years. Certain times serve as speed trap hours where you’re most likely to get fined. Drivers need to be especially aware of these areas and times so that they can limit their risk of getting a ticket.
High Traffic Times
Say, you’re driving 5MPH over the speed limit. You’re careful that you aren’t passing cars in an unsafe manner, not tailing cars, and generally being safe on the roads. If you’re doing all this, your chances of receiving a ticket will be very low.
However, all of these things are not possible during high traffic times. With so many cars on the road, you will have to weave through traffic to speed. This can be risky, and police offers are sure to stop even if you’re speeding only 5MPH more than the limit.
Early AM Driving
If you’re coming in from the outskirts towards the city in the mornings, the chances of getting a ticket increase exponentially. As you can see from this chart, traffic violation citations are the highest in the mornings.
Driving Into the City during Evening Traffic
Speeding during evening traffic while coming into the city can increase your chances of getting a ticket by a huge margin. Speeding in the evening is more dangerous due to the low light conditions. Therefore, your chances of getting into an accident also increase. If you’re speeding at this time, the police are more likely to stop you.
It’s always a good idea to obey the speed limit. However, if you’re in a situation where you have to speed, make sure not to speed at these times, as your chances of being stopped by the police are incredibly high!
