What Truckers Learned From The Basketball God
A majority of people, including truckers, feel they work very hard on a daily basis. On top of the long hours on the job trying to figure out what you’re going to eat next. Or the death stare you practice giving other drivers you’re trying to pass. Drivers have to return rejected calls, answer nature’s calls, and complete electronic logs. However, is that really hard work? Really, that’s just work that every driver does on their shift. Well, almost every driver. Hard work means going above and beyond your daily routine.
When we talk about hard work, we must include the sacrifice and grind it takes, that’ll produce those unexpected, out-of-the-ordinary results. So, what exactly could people learn by tapping into their inner Kobe? Let’s start with how to elevate to the top of their game by motivating themselves through those difficult sacrifices. Yeah, I said it!
Kobe, is a great example of reaching the top with hard work and dedication. It is heart-breaking that Kobe died at such a young age, but his life teaches us something.
In 2008, a couple years after O’Neal left the Lakers, Kobe was awarded the title of Most Valuable Player (MVP) and guided his team to the NBA finals. In 2009 and 2010, Kobe led the Lakers to the NBA championship. On top of these accomplishments, in 2008 and 2012 Kobe won consecutive gold medals while playing for the US Olympic teams.
However, Kobe’s career was far from “sweet.” In 2013, the basketball legend was determined to bounce back from a fractured knee he suffered after playing just six games into the 2013-2014 season. Although he returned at the start of 2015-2016, he later sustained a torn rotator cuff injury. He struggled to become fit and reach the level his Lakers teammates were used to, which is why in November 2015 he retired at the conclusion of the season. With 17 NBA All-Star selections, an NBA MVP award, five NBA championships with Lakers, two Olympic gold models – Kobe Bryant personifies what can be achieved with hard work like no one else.
As part of his philanthropic accomplishments through Kobe & Vanessa Bryant Family Foundation, Kobe partnered with the non-profit After-School All-Stars. He also managed an annual summer camp called the Kobe Basketball Academy.
Kobe’s star may be gone but it has not diminished and people will remember him forever. It was his hard work that made him the legend that he is. He woke up every day with a plan, and worked hard to make his mark. Through hard work, truckers can raises their vibration to a God-level and leave their mark on this planet. In Kobe’s name, Amen
